My oldest has decided to let Mom try to find her an older German Molly to replace her 'weird-hair' one rather than getting one at the MCM sale. I think she will like the hair better on the older dolls plus then both girls will have one German AG so that's fair.

Anyway, I know there are two versions of the German Molly. One is white bodied and one has the tan body. I was looking online at Molly's outfits. Seems the problem outfits for the white-bodied are the Route 66 and her pajamas. Is that it? Just how weird does it look with a white body with outfits like these? Can anyone who has one give me their opinion? My daughter says it doesn't matter, but I am not so sure. Looking for opinions please.

    Hi Bonnie,

Good luck on getting an earlier Molly I've seen some on ebay and they looked very nice. I only have a Samantha and Kirsten that are older and the only problem I have with them isn't how they look in the clothes, but the fact that a lot of clothes don't fit them. I know you can take them apart and take some of the stuffing out, but I hate to do surgery on them. They are just too bulky to fit into a lot of newer made AG outfits, even outfits that are supposed to be for them.

I don't have the official Molly clothing, but do have the doll...the white torso kind of just looks like a t-shirt when underneath the lower-cut doll clothing. This would look okay on with the pajamas (I have the ones made with AG patterns--it just looks like she has on a t-shirt underneath the top), but with the dress I think it would probably look funny. But with the pajamas, it looks okay. So that's only one outfit she might look a little funny in!

Oops...just noticed that the Victory Garden dress neck-line is just a *teensy* bit lower cut, too.

I agree- it does look just like a tee shirt under the dresses... not too bad.

It is also true that some of the clothes do not fit well but I just squish down the fill and velcro 'em in.

    Good luck

I display mine in stands and I found that if I put the thing around their waist under their dress this not only looks better but also squishes their stuffing down a bit so it's easier to dress them in new outfits. Just a thought! So far I haven't had any problems with any of my old ones fitting in clothes with this method...
